what is it?
light body somatics: the method
A mix of yogic technology, psychosomatic processing and mindfulness tools, Light Body Somatics presents a path towards living more embodied, less reactive, and better equipped for modern life. In one-on-one sessions, we’ll work towards balancing the autonomic nervous system so it works the way it was intended: appropriate activation based on present moment awareness. The toggle from sympathetic (fight / flight / freeze) to parasympathetic (rest & digest) dominance isn’t stuck anymore - it moves with ease in real-time. For more on the intricacies of the nervous system, see our about : somatics page.
A Light Body Somatics session is a unique mix of intuitively led movement, breathwork, meditation, and contemplation designed specifically for you. Together, we'll work with the body and mind to support your overall health and wellbeing, adapting based on what is present for you. We’ll establish a prescription of practices grounded in what you bring to the session, whether that be a holistic “here’s what’s happening” or a specific aspect of life you intend to work with. You’ll leave each session with a deeper relationship to your own nervous system, science-backed tools to support autonomic balance in your life 'off the mat', and, hopefully, a sense of relief knowing your body and your mind can feel different if you know how to best support it.
Light Body Somatics is not therapy. It’s not coaching. It’s a method that meets you where you’re at and evolves alongside you and your life.

light body somatics presents: BODY LANGUAGE
individual experiences, together in community
“Asking people, ‘How does this feel in your body?’ is not the same as asking people to have the body speak its own language.” - Esther Perel
What does your body have to say, and how does it speak? Together we’ll uncover our unique way of communicating through the physical. Leveraging the Light Body Somatics methodology, BODY LANGUAGE is a movement and meditation journey past the mind, into the body, arriving in stillness.
Expect a mix of yoga asana (postures), embodiment exercises (deep fascial stretching, structural strengthening, qigong shaking + tapping), pranayama (breathwork), and mindfulness meditation, all with the intention to leave you with accessible tools that support you long term.
